Meaning

Vivid means producing strong, clear images in the mind, or being very bright and strong in color. It is used for colors, descriptions, memories, dreams, and imagination. 'Vivid' always suggests clarity and intensity. Common uses: 'vivid colors' (bright, saturated), 'vivid description' (very clear and detailed), 'vivid memory' (strong, clear memory), 'vivid dream' (very real-feeling dream). Japanese learners should note that 「ビビッド」 is used in Japanese fashion and design contexts, usually meaning bright/bold color.
