Definition
Typical means having the qualities that are normal or expected for a particular person, thing, or situation. 'A typical Monday', 'typical Japanese cuisine', 'it is typical of him to be late'. Note the pattern: 'typical of + person/thing': 'That is so typical of her!' (meaning that behavior is what you would normally expect from her — often said in slight exasperation or fondness). The adverb 'typically' means usually or normally: 'Japanese students typically study very hard.'
