Meaning

The process of learning skills or improving physical or mental abilities through repeated practice and instruction. 'Training' is generally uncountable in English — do not say 'a training' or 'many trainings'. Say 'training sessions', 'a training programme', or just 'training'. It is used in sports ('football training'), work ('job training', 'staff training'), and fitness ('strength training', 'interval training').

  • 選手たちは毎日午前6時にトレーニングを始める。
    The athletes start training at 6 a.m. every day.
  • 新しい社員はまず3週間の研修を受ける。
    New employees first complete three weeks of training.
