therapy

Translation

療法 / 治療 / セラピー / カウンセリング

Meaning

Therapy is a treatment for a physical or mental health condition. It can mean physical therapy (body rehabilitation), occupational therapy (helping with daily activities), or psychotherapy / talk therapy (mental health treatment). In modern English-speaking culture, 'therapy' is increasingly used informally to mean just mental health counseling: 'I've been in therapy for six months.' The phrase 'I'm going to therapy' is now very common and carries no stigma in many English-speaking communities.
