Definition
A description of events — real or made-up — told to entertain or inform. A bedtime story, a news story, a love story. 'Story' also means a floor or level of a building in American English ('a ten-story building').
意味: 実際のことでも作り話でも、楽しんでもらったり伝えたりするために語られる出来事の描写。ベッドタイムストーリー・ニュースの記事・ラブストーリーなど。アメリカ英語では建物の「階」も 'story' と言います（'a ten-story building'＝10階建てのビル）。
