step (A1)
カタカナ: ステップ
IPA: /stɛp/
Definition
A movement made by lifting your foot and putting it down in a new position; also a single action in a process. 'Take one step forward.' 'Step' covers both the physical act of stepping (movement) and a stage in a process ('follow these steps', 'the first step in learning English'). It can also be a verb: 'Step outside, please.' Japanese 'sutepu' (ステップ) is used in both dance and business process contexts, but English 'step' has far more idiomatic extensions.
意味: 足を持ち上げて新しい位置に置く動作;また過程における単一の行動。'Take one step forward.'(一歩前に進んでください)。'step'は物理的な一歩(移動)と過程の段階('follow these steps'・'the first step in learning English')の両方をカバーします。動詞としても使えます:'Step outside, please.'(外に出てください)。
