refund
Translation
返金 / 払い戻し / 返品返金
Meaning
A refund is money returned to you after you return a product or cancel a service. 'Refund' is both a noun and a verb. As a noun: 'I received a full refund.' As a verb: 'They refunded the money to my account.' In everyday English, common phrases are: 'Can I get a refund?', 'I'd like to request a refund', or 'I want my money back' (informal). Japanese learners should note that the noun has stress on the first syllable (REE-fund) and the verb can be stressed on either syllable, though the first syllable is also common for the verb.
