Definition
Obtuse can describe someone who is annoyingly slow to understand something obvious or insensitive to a situation. In geometry, it means greater than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees. Do not use it simply for any difficult text; abstruse is better for complex ideas or writing.
意味: obtuse は、明らかなことをなかなか理解しない人や、状況に鈍感な人を表します。幾何では「90度より大きく180度より小さい、鈍角の」という意味です。難しい文章なら、ふつう abstruse の方が合います。
