Definition

Libel is defamation in written, printed, broadcast, or otherwise published form. The trap is confusing it with slander, which is usually spoken defamation, or with liable, which means responsible.

意味: libel は、文章、印刷物、放送、公開された形での名誉毀損を指します。slander は通常、口頭の名誉毀損です。また liable は「責任がある」という別語です。
