Meaning

Legislation means laws, or a proposed law, made by a legislative body. It is usually uncountable, so English often says legislation or a piece of legislation, not a legislation.

  The government introduced new legislation on data protection.
• その法案は委員会で修正されました。
  The piece of legislation was amended in committee.
