Meaning
A person who collects, investigates, and reports news or other information for publication in newspapers, magazines, online media, or for broadcast on television and radio. 'Journalist' is the general professional term. In practice, a journalist's specific role may be: 'reporter' (gathers and writes news stories), 'correspondent' (reports from a specific country or topic area), 'columnist' (writes regular opinion pieces), or 'photojournalist' (documents news in photographs).
