Meaning

Impecunious means having very little money, especially in a formal or literary description of a person, student, artist, family, or organization. It does not mean inexpensive.

Examples

    As an impecunious student, he bought only used books.
  • その劇団は資金不足でしたが、創造力は豊かでした。
    The theater company was impecunious but inventive.
