Meaning

A book of information about a place, written for tourists or travelers. 'The Lonely Planet guidebook recommended a small family restaurant near the station.' Also called a 'travel guide'. In modern English, travelers also refer to 'online guides', 'travel apps', and 'review sites' (like TripAdvisor) — these have largely replaced physical guidebooks, but the concept and vocabulary remain the same.

観光客や旅行者のために書かれた、ある場所に関する情報の本。'The Lonely Planet guidebook recommended a small family restaurant.'（ロンリープラネットのガイドブックが駅近くの小さな家族経営のレストランを推薦していた）。「travel guide」とも呼ばれます。現代ではオンラインガイドやアプリが物理的なガイドブックの代わりとなっていますが、概念と語彙は同じです。
