CEFR A2
gentle
Translation
優しい / 穏やかな / おとなしい
Meaning
Kind, mild, and careful, especially in touch or manner. A 'gentle' person is soft in how they treat others — they do not use force or harshness. 'Gentle' can describe how someone acts (a gentle person), how something moves or sounds (a gentle breeze, a gentle knock), or how something is done (handled gently). Note: 'gentle' is not exactly the same as 'kind' — kind means wanting to help others, gentle means being soft and careful in approach.
Examples
