Meaning

As a transport noun and adjective, 'express' refers to a train, bus, or service that travels faster than normal by making fewer stops. In Japan, 急行 (kyuuko) and 特急 (tokkyuu) correspond to different grades of express service. In English, 'the express' or 'an express train' means a train that skips many local stops. 'Express' can also be a verb: 'to express' means to communicate or show a feeling.
