exhibition

Translation

展示会 / 展覧会 / エキシビション / 博覧会

Meaning

An exhibition is a public display of works of art, products, or information, usually organized at a gallery, museum, or convention center. Art exhibitions display artworks; trade exhibitions (also called 'trade shows' or 'expos') display products for businesses. In American English, 'exhibit' is often used as a synonym, especially for individual items: 'The exhibit includes 40 paintings.' In British English, 'exhibition' is more common than 'exhibit' for the event itself. 'Exhibition' also appears in sports: an 'exhibition game' is a game played for practice or entertainment, not for points.
