Meaning

A formal test — usually longer and more important than a regular test. An exam might be at the end of a term, for a university entrance, or for a professional qualification. 'Exam' is short for 'examination'.

正式な試験。通常は通常のテストより長く、重要なもの。学期末試験、大学入試、資格試験などがあります。「exam」は「examination」の略です。
