Meaning
Enjoin is a formal legal verb meaning to order someone by authority, especially by a court. It can mean order someone to do something or order them not to do it. The trap is that it looks like join but means command.

- 裁判所は会社に汚染を止めるよう命じました。
The court enjoined the company to stop the pollution. - 命令はその業者に顧客データの使用を禁じました。
The order enjoined the vendor from using customer data.
