disingenuous

Translation

不誠実な / しらじらしい / 本音を隠した

Meaning

Disingenuous describes speech or behavior that seems dishonest because someone is pretending not to know, pretending to be innocent, or hiding a real motive. It is closer to insincere than to simply wrong. Do not confuse it with ingenious, which means clever.
