Meaning

Damage is harm that makes a thing, place, system, or reputation worse or less useful. It is usually uncountable in this sense: serious damage, not many damages.

  The typhoon caused serious damage to the roof.
• 水の被害で古い書類が読めなくなりました。
  Water damage made the old documents unreadable.
