CEFR B1
curriculum
Translation
カリキュラム / 教育課程 / 学習計画
Meaning
A curriculum is the complete set of courses, subjects, and learning experiences offered or required in a school, university program, or educational system. While a 'syllabus' covers one course, a 'curriculum' covers everything in a program. 'Curriculum' has an irregular Latin plural: 'curricula'. However, 'curriculums' is also used informally and widely accepted. Japanese learners will recognize 'カリキュラム' from Japanese education — it is used with the same meaning.
Examples
- 新しいカリキュラムには科学の授業が含まれるようになった。
The new curriculum includes more science classes. - 学校はカリキュラムを定期的に見直す必要がある。
Schools need to review their curriculum regularly.
