Complement means to complete or enhance — something that goes well with another thing. Like puzzle pieces fitting together.

In grammar, a complement is a word or phrase that completes a sentence's meaning: 'She is HAPPY' (happy is a complement of 'is').
CRITICAL: Sounds identical to compliment, but completely different meaning.
