CEFR B1
client
Translation
クライアント / 顧客 / 依頼人 / 取引先
Meaning
A client is a person or company that pays for the services of a professional or business. 'Client' is used in service industries: law, accounting, consulting, advertising, design, and healthcare. 'The lawyer met with her client.' 'We need to keep our clients happy.' In everyday shopping contexts, English speakers say 'customer', not 'client'. The difference matters: you are a customer at a supermarket; you are a client of a law firm.
