Definition
Call off means to cancel something that was planned — an event, a meeting, a search, or a commitment.
'They called off the concert because of the storm.' (they cancelled it)
'The search was called off after three days.' (it was stopped)
Call off is SEPARABLE — the object can go between call and off:
'Call the wedding off.' OR 'Call off the wedding.' (both correct)
With a pronoun, the pronoun MUST go in the middle: 'Call it off.' (never 'call off it')
意味: call offは「(予定していたことを)中止する・キャンセルする」という意味の句動詞です。

The search was called off after three days.(捜索は3日後に打ち切られた)
call offは分離可能な句動詞です:
