budget

Translation

予算 / バジェット / 家計

Meaning

A budget is a plan for how to spend money over a period of time. 'We have a marketing budget of $10,000.' 'Budget' can also be an adjective meaning low-cost: 'a budget hotel', 'a budget airline'. As a verb, 'to budget' means to plan your spending: 'She budgets carefully every month.' The phrase 'over budget' means spending more than planned, and 'under budget' means spending less. These are extremely common in business and project management contexts.
