Definition
A loose upper garment for women, similar to a shirt but often softer or more decorative. 'She wore a white blouse with her black skirt.' In English, 'blouse' is typically used for women's shirts — especially formal or office ones. A man's shirt is not called a 'blouse'. Japanese 'burausu' (ブラウス) is the direct loanword and is used in the same way.
