arrogant (B2)
IPA: /ˈærəɡənt/
Definition
Behaving as if you are better or more important than other people, in a way that is unpleasant and offensive. 'He was so arrogant that he never listened to anyone else's ideas.' 'Arrogant' is always negative in English — unlike 'confident', which is positive. If you want to describe healthy self-belief, use 'confident' or 'self-assured', not 'arrogant'.
He was so arrogant that he never listened to anyone else's ideas.'(彼はとても傲慢で、誰の意見も聞かなかった)。
