Meaning

Aggrieved describes someone who feels wronged or unfairly treated. It is stronger and more formal than annoyed, and it often implies a grievance, complaint, or claim. Do not confuse it with aggravated, which means made worse or irritated.

  • 不当に解雇された従業員たちは抗議した。
    The aggrieved employees protested the layoffs.
  • 彼女はその決定に深く不満を抱いていた。
    She felt deeply aggrieved by the decision.
