Meaning

Actual means real, true, or existing in fact, especially when this is different from what people expected, guessed, or only imagined. 'The actual cost was much higher.' (the real cost, not the estimate) 'I never saw the actual document.' (the real document itself) CRITICAL TRAP: actual does NOT mean 'current' or 'now'. Japanese learners often connect it with アクチュアル or 現在, but English separates 'real' from 'current'.

actualは「実際の」「本当の」「現実に存在する」という意味です。特に、予想・推測・見た目と違う本当の事実を表すときに使います。The actual cost was much higher.（実際の費用はずっと高かった）I never saw the actual document.（本物の書類そのものは見ていない）注意：actualは「現在の」という意味ではありません。「今の」はcurrentを使います。
