Definition
A wise and powerful king of ancient Israel, son of David, who reigned in the 10th century BCE. He is traditionally credited with writing much of the Book of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon in the Hebrew Bible, and is renowned for his wisdom, wealth, and building projects, including the First Temple in Jerusalem.
