A person who acts in an affected manner to impress others, often by adopting a style or attitude that is not genuinely their own.

Examples

  • He called her a poser because she only wore band t-shirts of groups she'd never actually listened to.
  • The art critic dismissed his work as shallow and pretentious, labeling the artist a mere poser.
