Meaning

A student who frequently disrupts lessons by making jokes or acting in a silly manner to gain the attention and amusement of their peers.

Examples

  • The class clown was finally sent to the principal's office after his constant interruptions made it impossible to finish the history lecture.
  • While he was the class clown in middle school, he eventually matured and became a serious student by the time he reached university.
