Meaning

A condition in childbirth where the fetal head enters the pelvic canal at an angle, with one parietal bone positioned lower than the other.

Examples

• The midwife identified moderate asynclitism, which often requires the mother to change positions to help the baby rotate.
• Persistent asynclitism can sometimes lead to a prolonged second stage of labor.
